Adguard can make your online experience safer because, though Macs and Apple laptops are quite safe to use, when it comes to ad blockers, Macs experience real problems. Already-existing solutions do not consider the specifics of OS X. That greatly influences the stability of work in Safari, and these ad-blocking extensions fail to do their work properly, especially when video ads are an issue.
New Adguard lets you fully enjoy web surfing without any distractions. Watch those videos you want to watch, and not video ads, on YouTube, Twitch, or any other website. Look at photos of your friends and not at endless banners on Facebook and other social networks. Adguard gives you freedom of choice and saves your nerves. It works perfectly with all browsers, as it was developed specially for use on OS X.
- Ad Blocker. Subtle filtering of all incoming traffic, and what is more, ads are blocked before they load to the page.
- Browsing Security. Checks every page for any malicious content using our databases, and blocks requests from potentially dangerous ones.
- Privacy Protection. Any counters and tracking instruments will be blocked by powerful Spyware filter. You can stop worrying for the privacy of your actions on the Internet.
- Works in all browsers. Safari, Chrome – you name it. No exceptions.
- Easy to install. A couple of clicks, and your Mac is protected from ads. You don’t have to struggle with overcomplicated settings – just surf the net and Adguard will do all the work.
- Blocking video ads. Any video ad, on any site – Adguard will block it.
- Application filtering. More than just an addon for browser. It can help you to get rid of ads in any app on your Mac.
- Is supported in all OS X versions from 10.7 64-bit and higher.
- Adguard has intuitive and simple UI with such additional features like Adguard Assistant and filtering log.
- Daily ad filters and phishing databases updates.

Network extension appears to not be working for some reason. And Automatic Proxy is very unreliable .
Works like a charm on 2.7.0 after selecting ‘Automatic Proxy’. I am using MacOS Monterey 12.4 on Intel. But please update to 2.8.1 when you can! 🙂
once you install Adguard, go into your preferences via the app, and go to Network, Under the first tab “Automatically Filter Applications”, click the sub context box ( usually says “select mode”), and click “Automatic Proxy”. Reset the app, and it should work fine**
The AdGuard assistant extension for safari does not seem to work on Big Sur.
Please update for the 2.6. There are lots of new features including DNS protection
Can I turn SIP back on or do I need to keep it off?
I got it to work. Here are the steps
The one commented by TNT has the dashes wrong. There should be two dashes between spctl & master and one dash in between master and disable. For the next line there should be two dashes before force, two before deep, and two before sign. There should only be one dash before the “/Applications/Adguard.app” I hope this helps.
I’m getting this and I can’t open the app.
Usage: codesign -s identity [-fv*] [-o flags] [-r reqs] [-i ident] path … # sign
codesign -v [-v*] [-R=<req string>|-R <req file path>] path|[+]pid … # verify
codesign -d [options] path … # display contents
codesign -h pid … # display hosting path
Hi guys, could you please update to the new version 2.6.1?
does it work for macOS Monterey?
No it doesn’t. I just upgraded to Monterey and 2.5.3 stopped working. Reinstall didn’t help. We need to wait for 2.7 release now…
Theres another version can you upload it??
If it crashes for no signature, go to terminal, type
sudo spctl –master-disable
codesign –force –deep –sign – /Applications/Adguard.app

The crashing problem has been fixed https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForMac/releases/tag/v2.5.2.947
when can we expect an update?
Still on version 2.4.8.797 and full stealth mode & CMMX 4.4.7. I run DiskUtility sometimes if the fans start blowing on startup after loading adguard.
*** You need to disable the System Integrity Protection (SIP) to perform the selected Application.
yeah, but why actually
I mean what does the crack do for it to need sip disabled.
Disabling sip on an m1 Mac is annoying.
it even annoys on intel mac but with sip mac will block certain actions.
Version 2.5.2 (942) crash on my MacBook Pro (Mojave 10.14.6).
Version 2.5.2 (942) crash on my iMac 4K (Big Sur 11.2.1).
Also crashes on Catalina 10.15.7 on my MBP13.
You need to close SIP to use it.
How do I do that?
To disable SIP, do the following:
Restart your computer in Recovery mode.
Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Run the command csrutil disable.
Restart your computer.

SIP is disabled. It’s just this version that’s wrong.
the crash has nothing to do with SIP. it’s a bug.
Hi, can you upload Guitar Pro 7.5?
The new version doesn’t work. I have disable SIP.
All. For MacOS Big Sur users, I think the instructions on how to make AdGuard work (start the required services) are not clear enough from other posts. Go to Preferences/Network tab and there you have a small grey button “Select Mode” in front of “Automatic Proxy” option under the very first check box “Automatic application filtering”: it’s not obvious to find it straight away as the button is small and seems greyed, but it’s not. Once you click the button “Select Mode” just choose “Automatic Proxy” from next window, and you’re done! Try to start AdGuard then, enter your admin password when prompted, and services will start.
This solution works. Thanks
I still don’t get it, I don’t see those options on mine.
are you talking about the settings in the app, because the app doesn’t even open for me.
i found the solution. Ad guard -> prefernces -> network -> select mode
-> automatic proxy. It works perfectly for me now.
Thanks it’s work for me now 🙂 I see this post on Adguard website : https://kb.adguard.com/en/macos/solving-problems/big-sur-issues
THANK YOU VERY MUCH PROOOOOOOOOO
If you have issues filtering or loading google sites or others, try reset your settings.

The PUA “Potentially Unwanted Apps” began with 4.6.13 any version & above with the new White outer logo.
CleanMyMac X/Preferences/Uncheck 😉
Or don’t use cracked apps and buy them, you have choices.
It is a PUA warning. What means Potentially Unwanted Apps. Normally anti-malware and virus software will give false positives on keygens and some cracks. They do it on purpose to scare people away from using illegally obtained software.
TNT is well known and an easy target to create a bunch of bogus alerts based on patterns from their releases.
