Windows/iTunes refuses to recognize iPhone when trying to sync device. Mac side recognizes iPhone fine. Parallels also recognizes other USB devices just fine with the fix suggested in this thread. Last iteration of Parallels did not have this problem. Since regular USB devices work inside of this version of Parallels, I’m assuming something is stemming from the USB “fix” that is preventing my iPhone to be recognized?

  66. Henry says:

Can this version of USB interface work properly?

  67. trueno says:

I show you how I installed the program and it works fine:

    1) Disconnect the mac from the internet
    2) Run this before installing:

    sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/file.dmg

    where “file.dmg” is Parallels Desktop 16.1.2-49151 – Toolbox 4.1.1-3698 by TNT.dmg

    3) Install Parallels Desktop 16.1.2-49151
    4) Set automatic updates to “never”
    5) Network and USB Fix:

    You can see this: https://youtu.be/oYhYRPu6IZc

    Network fix:
    1. sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
    2. find <UseKextless>1</UseKextless> (value can be -1), and change the value to the <UseKextless>0</UseKextless>
    3. if you can’t to find this tag, then just create it under root tag <ParallelsNetworkConfig …>here</ParallelsNetworkConfig>
Press CTRL+O to save the changes. Press CTRL+X to exit the editor.

    USB Fix:
    1. sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/dispatcher.desktop.xml
    2. If the current value is <Usb>0</Usb> then replace with <Usb>1</Usb>
Press CTRL+O to save the changes. Press CTRL+X to exit the editor.

    6) Login to windows to automatically install/update the “Parallels Tools” program

    7) With a free program like

    https://www.hhdsoftware.com/free-hex-editor

You must modify the byte at 0x5593 of the file:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Tools\Plugins\DesktopUtilities.dll

Change it from 74 to EB. The warning dialog box “This copy of Parallels Desktop may not be genuine…” will disappear completely.

To edit this file you must end the following process in the task manager:

    – Parallels Control Center

    8) Then you must reboot windows and connect to internet

    • Ugo Fantocci says:

Awesome trick for the annoying “not genuine message”, Thanks a lot trueno!

    • Nick says:

      Thanks trueno.

Just thought of sharing another tip with respect to point 7 in case if anyone doesn’t want to install the crapware for single use like I do.

You can also go to https://hexed.it if you don’t want to install the software.

      1) Open the “DesktopUtilities.dll” file located at “C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Tools\Plugins\”.
      2) From the left column, navigate to “Go to” field located under “Go To” section.
      3) Type in “0x5593” and press Enter which will take you directly to the exact byte as mentioned.
      4) Change it from “74” to “EB” and Save the file to your Desktop as “DesktopUtilities.dll”.
      5) End Task for the Parallels Control Center from Task Manager.
      6) Move & Replace the “DesktopUtilities.dll” file from “Desktop” to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Tools\Plugins\”.

      • Song says:

        Thanks Nick.
It does work well on my Mac.
And your tip helped me to locate the “0x5593” in an easier way! it’s hard for me to locate the byte cause I’m a green-hand.
        Ace!

  68. Faheem says:

is windows 10 already included for freE??

  69. Anonim says:

    Network Fix:

    1. sudo nano /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml
    2. find <UseKextless>1</UseKextless> (value can be -1), and change the value to the <UseKextless>0</UseKextless>
    3. if you can’t to find this tag, then just create it under root tag <ParallelsNetworkConfig …>here</ParallelsNetworkConfig>

    USB Fix:

    1. /Library/Preferences/Parallels/dispatcher.desktop.xml
    2. <Usb>0</Usb> find ==>> <Usb>1</Usb>

Result: you can start/restart Parallels without sudo – network will work. usb too.

  75. Phong Black says:

    Hi guys,

Finally we can have fully working Parallels Desktop TNT on Big Sur with networking, usb devices, etc..
It no longer requires running Parallels Desktop manually using sudo command with complicated steps.

Please download the following application (I made this with built-in Apple Automator application):

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MMgZ_CrCWDuo639MO1AIQ2EPV0YlPAMB/view

This application will try to modify some values in 2 config files:
    /Library/Preferences/Parallels/dispatcher.desktop.xml
    /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml

You can check the source code inside the app to be confident before running it.

  77. Naksali says:

After installing this version I got this error, “This copy of parallels desktop may not be genuine. you may be a victim of software counterfeiting”

Any of the previous verison have never gave any issues.

If there is any solution please let us know.

  78. Trueno says:

    Thanks for this post.

I have a problem with version 16 of this great program that I will describe to you in case someone has found a solution.

If this is not the right place, I would ask any moderator to tell me where to post it.

Everything works perfectly for me, I installed it in the following way:

    1) I disconnect the Mac from the internet (I still have MacOS Catalina 10.15.7)

    2) I run this (I’ve read it out there on the internet):

    sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/file.dmg

    3) I install Parallels Desktop Business Edition v16.1.1 (49141)

    4) Set to never update

    5) I login to Windows and Parallels Tools is automatically updated on windows (I already had a fully updated VM with windows 10 pro and it worked perfectly with Parallels Desktop Business Edition version 15.1.2.47123)

    6) in windows update the hots file to prevent it from connecting to home with:

    # Parallels:
    0.0.0.0 www.parallels.com
    0.0.0.0 parallels.com
    0.0.0.0 download.parallels.com
    0.0.0.0 desktop.parallels.com

    7) reboot

    8) I reconnect the mac to the internet and with the Lulu 2.0.0 firewall I block any attempt to connect to the internet from Parallels Desktop. After a while, when the mac goes to sleep (with the windows VM on), when I reactivate it, I get a message in Windows (warning !! in windows and not in the mac) that says something like “This copy of Parallels Desktop may not be genuine. You may be a victim of software counterfeiting …. “(I attach a screenshot).

The truth is that I am desperate and I think I have already tried everything (I have uninstalled and installed it up to 3 times without success and when uninstalling it, I have passed Cleanmymac X, I have searched and deleted all the residual files with App Cleaner & Uninstaller 7.2 , also cleaned residual files with Find Any File.app, etc …).

I don’t know how Parallels can check the patch without connecting to the internet or will it do any checksum verification?

    Anyone else has happened?

Does anyone think what I could be doing wrong?

Do you think I should deactivate SIP? With version 15.1.2.47123 I didn’t have to disable it.

    Thanks in advance

  79. Vinit says:

I am unable to install it, please make a tutorial video.

  80. Johnny Mundo says:

finally decided to just buy the software. The exact same version is working fine when I download it from them but when I download the one here the Network doesn’t work it’s not a problem with their software it’s a problem with the way the MOD is done in this version.
I have Genuinely found use for this app so I guess it’s worth paying the price just can’t keep loading it up with all the apps I need only to have a break the very next time there’s a version so going Legit.
if you go to stacksocial.com right now they have a cyber monday deal for the pro version for 69 bucks cheaper then their site. In Addition you get 11 other Mac apps some of which are pretty costly they put a bundle together which you’re not gonna find a cheaper price.

  81. Dimitri says:

If you have network problem, you can solve teminal.
However, that method is a one-time use only.
    So I suggest apple script.

    1.Open “apple script editor”

    2.Fill in the following

    tell application “Terminal”

    do script “sudo -b /Applications/Parallels\\ Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_client_app” in window 1
do script “[YOUR_PASSWORD]” in window 1

    end tell

    3.Save as application file

    4.Run application file(No.3)

    5.Enjoy

  82. Cons says:

Hola, definitivamente SI funciona con el comando
    sudo -b /Applications/Parallels\ Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_client_app
    EN BIG SUR
Solo que hay que intentar varias opciones, yo tuve que cambiar de cable de red a través de usb a wifi. y si si me funcionó.

    https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50655154342_6571dbb8c0_m.jpg

    https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50654329678_c4dc243187_m.jpg
Asi que en resumen solo deben de revisar o cambiar su tipo de red y moverle tal vez aqui y listo

    https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50655083496_d7f46a62fc_w.jpg

  102. John says:

Parallels was unable to provide help on this, but I needed a workaround and here it is. I have only been able to reproduce this bug with bridged networking.

Parallels is reading the “Default” and “Ethernet” adapters incorrectly. I am close to figuring out the pattern, but even creating an “Ethernet 2” does not help. The workaround is to use the wi-fi adapter if “Ethernet” is your primary or “Ethernet” if wi-fi is your primary.

    Steps to fix:

Assume: Connection to the Mac is wired and “Ethernet” is the Mac’s primary network.
Enable Wi-Fi and allow it to connect to your network. You will have 2 IP addresses, but as long as Wi-Fi is later than “Ethernet” in the “Set Service Order”, you are all good.
For the network of the guest machine, choose “Wi-Fi”. There is another tiny bug where you may have to select it twice if the machine is active. Make sure it was selected.

Bridged networking will now work, albeit over wi-fi. I intend to experiment with a second physical network adaptor, but for right now I just needed my virtual machines up and running.

  119. Swifter Jr says:

    HOW TO INSTALL:
Below steps solves the error “Parallels is Damaged” when trying to install normally. These steps are compiled from other user comments and works on Mac OS 15.6 Catalina.

1.- Open Terminal and paste the following command (it disables the security to allow install modified/cracked apps):

    sudo spctl –master-disable

    2.- Enter your mac password
3.- open the .dmg downloaded and run then Install as normal
4.- WHEN the pop-up appears with the error “Parallels is Damaged”, just press cancel .
5.- Open terminal and copy and run this command (this will copy the Parallels Desktop.app cracked to your local Application Folder. IMPORTANT: WAIT 2-5min after entering the following command – needs time to fully complete the command):

    sudo cp -R /Volumes/Parallels\ Desktop\ 16.0.0-48916\ -\ Toolbox\ 4.0.0-3231\ by\ TNT/Parallels\ Desktop.app /Applications

6.- Now copy and run this command ( I don’t know why but the .app is copied as hidden file, so this will fix it ):

    sudo xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo /Applications/Parallels\ Desktop.app

7.- Next, run this to enable the security and allows to run the Parallels Desktop.app :

    sudo spctl –master-enable

8.- Finally run the following command to allow the Parallels Desktop.app to run:

    sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Parallels\ Desktop.app

9.- Close the terminal, eject the .dmg file and launch the Parallels Desktop app from Lauchpad – you can check the version 16.0 in the menu app (Note: if you can’t find it in Launchpad, then just search “Parallels Desktop.app” in finder or spotlight search to locate and run the app)

10.- Make sure to close the update installation pop-up and to cancel any update from being installed (best to uncheck the automated update installation box from the Parallels settings to disable the pop-ups)

    Enjoy.

    • Prado says:

either do Step8 OR Step7. Do Both is redundant and makes no sense. Choose just one of them.

      Details:
Step 7 disable GateKeeper temporary for all applications (but gatekeeper reenables itself again automatically after some minutes)

Step 8 disable GateKeeper permanently *for the choosen application*, which in case is: ParallelsDesktop.app. This means: MacOS will always run Parallels.app and its modules/drivers because you just told it to *trust* that application. (by removing the quarantine flag you permanently tell MacOS to forever trust the application to run)

So, much better is step8, as there will be *no* “rearm” like there will be on Step7

And by choosing Step8 there is absolutely no reason to do Step7

  123. Jay says:

    Hi All,

I think most o your are able to run the stpes in this post to make paralles 16from TNT work. I was able to login into windows thorigh Parallels fine as well.
I am still struggling to close the Network initialization issue everytime i log into windows well before teh windows even starts bootong/

    WORK Around:

    1. Please download Parallels 16 from parallels website.
    2. Install as usuall.
    3. install or boot from bootcamp inot windows using paralles software.
    4. This will work even after 14 days of trial. How?
    5. after 14 days, Change date to 2-10 days before teh Trial date ends say to 19th Aug if your trial ended 31st Aug. Thsi was my case.
    6. Yu will now NOT get the License key Dialog ot trial ended dialog.
    7. After logging into Windows. Change teh date back at teh MAc end to current date or Automatic in System preferences.
    8. Good luck!
  124. Baby Jay says:

So I was finally able to get this to work by following the steps 1-7 provided by Swifter below

However, Peter K was right when he said that steps 6 and 7 needed to be changed in order for it to work.. Unfortunately though when changing both steps 6 and 7 to what Peter said I wasn’t able to get the program to work either..

It wasn’t until I continued on down the thread reading and trying what other users said was I actually able to get the program to work properly when launching it from my launch pad and not my applications folder.. Which I’m okay with and just Happy I was actually able to get the damn thing to work lol..

But that being said that whole process was sketchy and confusing and I dont know about everyone else but someone like me whose not that familiar when working with the terminal and already doing something sketchy I get really freaked out when it comes to just typing random things into my terminal random people said on the internet and so its really nerve racking even trying the steps provided below.. Therefore when one of them doesn’t work and your left with just having to believe and try what another random person from the internet said to do and then that doesn’t work either.. it can really freak me out..

So I would really appreciate it if someone who was a little but more proficient with code and working with the terminal could help me out or us all out and please rewrite steps 1-7 but this time with all the proper steps and info to put in the terminal I would be extremely grateful and I’m sure everyone else would be to!

So thanks again for all of the feedback and info already.. We are super close we just need someone to clean it all up and so no one else has to go through what i just went through going down the thread trying everything trial and error style guessing until somehow it decided to work

But thanks again and I hope everyone has a great rest of their day!

    Thank You

  125. Jay says:

The steps worked fine. The steps 6 and 7 can be run like
    sudo xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo /Applications/”Parallels Desktop.app”

What is the point of updating the page today if it’s not to fix something..

this version of Parallels made by TNT is corrupted, the network isn’t working properly..
this isn’t even a new file just an update to the page which.. tbh I can’t even see what has been updated…

If anyone got around, please help btw

  130. Jones says:

Network initialization failed (macOS Big Sur beta 4)
Parallels desktop log says net bind fail. This only happens in TNT cracked version whereas official build works perfectly well.

    • Ekko says:

I got the same issue and I don’t know how to fix it.. even my USB wifi dongle doesn’t work..

      • Jones says:

I think it’s the problem of TNT cracked version itself. dunno why

it doesn’t matter what type of adapter you are using. I checked parallel log and it’s adapter binding error.

I’m currently using Parallels Desktop 16 Trial Version 🙁

  131. Swifter says:

I solved the error “Parallels is Damaged” when is installing is because it try to run the app before copy the Parallels Desktop.app to application folder.

    just do it

1.- Open Terminal type( it disable the security to allow install modified/cracked apps):

    sudo spctl –master-disable

    2.- Enter your password
3.- open the dmg downloaded and run the Install as normal
4.- WHEN appears the error “Parallels is Damaged” just press cancel .
5.- Open terminal and copy and run this command ( this will copy the Parallels Desktop.app cracked to your local Application Folder , IMPORTAN WAIT 2-5min ):

     sudo cp -R /Volumes/Parallels\ Desktop\ 16.0.0-48916\ -\ Toolbox\ 4.0.0-3231\ by\ TNT/Parallels\ Desktop.app /Applications

6.- Now copy and run this command ( I don’t know why but the .app is copied as hidden file, so this will fix it ):

    sudo xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo Parallels\ Desktop.app

7.- Finally run this to enable the security and allows to run the Parallels Desktop.app :

    sudo spctl –master-enable

    sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine Parallels\ Desktop.app

8.- Just run Parallels from Lauchpad and enjoy it – you can check the version 16.0 in the menu app

      didn’t work for me

    • Anmol Kapil says:

thanks bro it worked. Do i need to follow same steps to install Parallel Toolbox. is it necessary to install that too?

    • Peter K says:

Hi, I found a typo in your guide.

      Step no. 6 should change to: sudo xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo /Applications/Parallels \Desktop.app

Otherwise the terminal app will report xattr: no such file.

Also apply to Step no. 7: sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Parallels\ Desktop.app

      • Swifter says:

ohh thanks Peter K . Im sorry, I forgot the command to go into Application folder at step 6

        cd ~/Applications

      • Baby Jay says:

okay so I got this to work but am not sure how because even when copying these steps i kept on getting error and i forget which thing i fixed or changed after that to get it to finally work but this is all super confusing..

Is there any way we can get just one step by step walk through like the original comment above where they walk us through steps 1-7 but with all the correct steps and things to type in the terminal instead of all the extra comments and add ins where all the code is still a bit different and confusing?

        That would be EXTREMELY Helpful

        Thanks!

    • Jin says:

didn’t work, Step 5 come back as “cp: cannot overwrite directory” and can’t perform later steps; but not sure why, PD16 still show up (updated from PD15) in my Launch Pad and function normally.
