Bendy

Bendy is a desktop visual effects tool for macOS, designed specifically for Apple chip MacBooks.

Equipped with a hinge sensor. It reads the opening and closing angle of the MacBook screen hinge, creating natural tilting, folding, blurring, and shadow changes to the desktop as the screen closes, simulating the smooth folding effect of the iPhone Duo. Bendy The application uses Metal to capture and render the screen in real time, ensuring consistent movement of windows, wallpapers, and desktop content. The image stabilizes when the screen is fully closed and returns to its original state when reopened. Bendy offers three visual styles: Silk, Shade, and Frost, with adjustable perspective, blur, shadow, and clearing angles. It supports automatic changes following the screen hinge and allows manual dragging to control the effect. The software is always present in the menu bar, allowing for one-click pause or exiting the effect with Esc, and plays a soft sound when the screen is opened and closed. All visuals are processed locally; no recording, saving, or uploading of content is required. No account registration is needed, and installation is simple. It’s suitable for users who want to add dynamic feedback and desktop atmosphere to their MacBook’s opening and closing actions.
