Description

BlackFlare is a macOS menu bar tool for Claude Code and Codex users.

Centralizing session keep-alive, task notifications, default parameter settings, and usage monitoring. It’s ideal for developers who need to run AI programming tasks for extended periods. It monitors proxy sessions within Terminal, VS Code, and JetBrains IDE, keeping your Mac awake during task execution and automatically resuming normal sleep after the session ends. With the lid-closed option enabled and accessibility authorization completed, the MacBook can continue working without an external display. Users can configure the activation method for plugged-in and battery-operated sessions, and pause keep-alive and send reminders via custom low-battery thresholds. BlackFlare When a task is completed or waiting for input, the software notifies the user via local Mac notifications, Telegram, or Slack, and also supports pushing remote messages only when the user is away from the computer. BlackFlare Users can also set the default model, permission mode, effort level, and think mode for subsequent sessions from the menu bar, and view Claude and Codex usage and threshold reminders. The software runs on the local machine, requires no account registration, does not collect or analyze data or telemetry information, and is compatible with Apple chips and Intel Macs on macOS 13 and later.
