BookShelves

BookShelves is an ebook and comic book reading and management tool for Mac and all Apple devices.

It supports formats such as EPUB, PDF, CBZ, CBR, CB7, FB2, MOBI, AZW3, KF8, KEPUB, TXT, and Markdown, and can automatically convert some formats to EPUB. The application includes over 1.5 million free classic works from sources such as Standard Ebooks, the Internet Archive, the National Library of Spain, and the Aozora Bunko in Japan, and also supports browsing external OPDS directories. The reader offers pagination and continuous scrolling, ten themes, ten fonts, font weight, line spacing, margins, alignment, text search, dictionary lookup, table of contents navigation, bookmarks, highlighting, and note-taking functions, and supports exporting excerpts as Markdown, JSON, or CSV. Comic reading supports double-page spreads and comic mode, and is compatible with vertical text in Japanese and Chinese, as well as right-to-left reading directions in Arabic and Hebrew. Users can edit book titles, authors, series, ISBNs, publishers, and covers; create bookshelves with color-coded tags; search and filter by title, author, or tag; import Calibre libraries; sync with KOReader via WiFi; and run OPDS servers on Mac. iCloud allows for syncing of books, covers, reading progress, bookshelves, tags, ratings, notes, and reading preferences, enabling users to create a clean, private, and cross-device personal library without needing to register an account.
