Boring Notch

Boring Notch is an innovative app designed to transform the notched part of your MacBook into a dynamic music control center, saying goodbye to the monotonous status bar.

It allows the notch to not only display music controls, but also add vivid visualizations and integrate useful features such as calendars and AirDrop-enabled file holders. The app requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later with Apple Silicon or Intel Mac.

Although there is currently no Apple developer account, a warning will pop up when first launched, but users only need to confirm it once in the system settings. When in use, simply launch the app and the notch becomes the coolest part of the screen, hovering over the notch to expand and display all functions, including music management, playback activity, charging indicators, and more.

Boring Notch also plans to launch features such as reminder integration, custom gesture control, size adjustment, system HUD replacement, and notifications, aiming to provide users with a more personalized operating experience.
