DeltaSnap
Information

Description
DeltaSnap is an APFS snapshot management and file version control tool for macOS 15 and above.
DeltaSnap It transforms native file system snapshots into a fast undo layer that covers the entire disk volume. It creates checkpoints in milliseconds without copying existing files, making it ideal for saving state before system updates, batch editing, software installation, script execution, or running AI programming agents. Users can search for current and deleted files across managed volumes, view the complete version timeline of individual items, compare paths of additions, deletions, modifications, replacements, and moves between any two snapshots, and restore only damaged files or export copies of older versions without rolling back the entire Mac. The software supports Finder right-click operations, Spotlight and global quick search, intelligent retention policies, DeltaSnap disk and snapshot space monitoring, batch change alerts, and full operation auditing. It can also read existing snapshots created by Time Machine, Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper, and Arq. The accompanying dsnap command-line tool provides automated capabilities for creating, tagging, mounting, comparing, retaining, and destroying snapshots. The open Agent Skill allows compatible agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to establish tagged security checkpoints before and after tasks and verify the actual scope of changes. All snapshots, indexes, filenames, and schedules are stored locally, but since snapshots reside on the same volume as the source data, they cannot replace independent backups for handling hard drive failures, device loss, or disaster events. The current version is in the testing phase; verifiable external backups should still be maintained during use.
