FastKey

FastKey is a lightweight menu bar tool for macOS users.

Specifically designed to improve the system’s slow response when quickly pressing Caps Lock, making the Caps Lock switch more in line with the actual typing rhythm and reducing the occurrence of incorrect capitalization in continuous typing, such as “hELLO” and “tHANK YOU”. The software achieves instant switching by adjusting the Caps Lock delay settings provided by macOS, without installing keyboard drivers or recording or transmitting user-inputted text. Users can enable or disable Instant Caps Lock with a single click from the menu bar and set it to activate at login, automatically resuming the function after login, system sleep, or keyboard reconnection. A built-in Tap Test tool allows users to compare the keystroke effects before and after enabling the switch with their own keyboard; however, this test requires Input Monitoring permissions. FastKey supports reverting to the original system behavior at any time, making it suitable for Mac users who want to improve the smoothness of their daily typing and reduce the number of backspace corrections.
