FileMinutes is a native macOS file search and navigation tool that integrates directory searching.

FileMinutes File type filtering, content retrieval, and keyboard operations into a single interface, making it ideal for users who frequently search for documents, organize project materials, and browse folders. You can search directly within the download directory or a specific project path, or first search for files, then narrow down the results by folder, and further filter by file extensions or smart categories such as images and documents. The software supports using the arrow keys to browse files and navigate folders, using keyboard shortcuts to open and copy files, and pressing the spacebar to access QuickLook previews, allowing you to continue browsing photos and folders in preview mode. Favorites and recent searches help you quickly return to frequently used locations, while Finder integration allows you to view, switch, and close open windows and tabs. Content search covers PDF, Markdown, document, and text files, and global filtering allows you to set which directories and file types to include or exclude. FileMinutes uses Spotlight indexing to search for files and supports indexed external disks; unindexed disks can be accessed via path navigation. The software is developed in Swift and certified by Apple. It supports Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, requires macOS 13 or later, does not track application usage data, and files are stored locally by default.
