Floodtide

Floodtide is an application update tool for macOS users.

It reads the latest version information from each application’s own Sparkle update source and the Homebrew software directory, Floodtide centrally scans and batch updates supported software. It does not rely on a manually maintained application database, nor does it require Homebrew installation; it directly verifies the official download content and verification information released by the developer. For applications whose update source cannot be securely verified, Floodtide will explicitly list them, without making unauthorized guesses or substitutions. The software supports one-click Update All, automatic backup before updating, and reversal of the most recent update within seven days. Before installation, it checks code signing, Gatekeeper results, and whether the developer team is consistent with the original application, reducing the risk of malicious download sources or abnormal versions. It is compatible with macOS 13 and later, supports Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, and the application list is kept on the local machine by default. It does not require an account and does not request Full Disk Access, accessibility control, or screen recording permissions. Mac App Store applications will show a pending update status and guide the user to submit the update to the App Store. Free scanning continues after the trial period ends. It is suitable for users who want to centrally manage frequently used Mac software and value privacy, update traceability, and system security.
