Folio

Folio is a native macOS app for SmugMug photographers that loads your entire SmugMug library as a local folder tree.

Providing a one-stop shop for browsing, managing, uploading, backuping, and migrating. Users can easily browse albums and folders, view thumbnails in grid or masonry layouts, click on photos to open full-screen lightbox mode, zoom, pan, and keyboard navigation, and support native macOS controls for video playback. Folio allows you to create, rename, and organize libraries and folders, fully adjust library privacy settings, sorting methods, watermarks, and other parameters, and support copying web URLs and sharing links. The app interface intelligently adapts to your SmugMug subscription plan, providing breadcrumb navigation and adjustable thumbnail size, making bulk library management smooth and efficient. Folio has a powerful built-in upload engine that supports dragging and dropping photos and videos from the Finder or importing directly from the macOS Photo Library, and iCloud files can be automatically downloaded. The upload process is sequential, equipped with pause, resume, and stop controls, and the uploaded photos will immediately display local placeholders, while SmugMug processes the original files in the background. You can set up a watch folder to automatically upload new files, preserve the full folder structure, and perform duplicate detection by file name and content hashing. Batch operation supports multi-selection image download or deletion, and generates detailed upload and download reports. Folio also supports CSV batch creation of libraries, processing dozens or even hundreds of albums at once, including privacy settings, guest upload links, and sorting configurations, greatly improving work efficiency after busy seasons. The search function covers the entire library, and the results are grouped by library and file type statistics are displayed. The information panel allows you to edit titles, descriptions, keywords, and GPS coordinates, and view locations through interactive maps to fully display EXIF data. Folio integrates Apple Smart or Claude Vision to implement AI automatic labeling and automatic descriptions, process photos in batches or individually, and generate sidecar text files to preserve metadata. Map View displays all geotagged photos on Apple Maps in the form of thumbnail pins, supports automatic clustering and zoom splitting, and combines multi-label filtering bars to accurately filter by file type, camera device, EXIF parameters, and other conditions. The backup function supports downloading individual albums or entire libraries, perfectly preserving folder levels, and uses intelligent recovery, concurrent downloads (up to 3 files), and SHA-256 checksum detailed reports to ensure hassle-free complete backups. The migration tool can transfer the entire library of Google Photos or Flickr to SmugMug, preserving the album structure, metadata, and tags. Folio is developed natively with SwiftUI, a dark cinematic interface, focusing on the dignity of photography, all credentials are stored in macOS keychain, no data collection, no telemetry, and AI processing runs entirely on the device, making it suitable for professional photographers to efficiently manage SmugMug portfolios.
