GetFerret

GetFerret is a cross-disk file search and management tool designed specifically for macOS.

It creates a unified directory for internal disks, external hard drives, network storage, and locations such as Google Drive, Dropbox, GetFerret iCloud Drive, and OneDrive. This allows users to search for files by name, type, date, size, tags, and content, even when the hard drive is removed, stored in a drawer, or other location, and accurately view the disk and physical location of the file. The software offers a global quick search bar, a full file browser, real-time QuickLook previews, video and audio playback, photo content recognition, smart collections, virtual Nest item organization, favorites, and custom fields. It also supports safe deduplication, cross-disk copy verification, backup integrity checks, silent data corruption detection, two-factor authentication for camera memory cards, and recoverable deletions. All directories, tags, and indexes are stored locally, supporting exclusion of private folders and local encrypted storage, making it suitable for video editors, photographers, archivists, freelancers, and Mac users with multiple disks.
