HoldMyNotes

HoldMyNotes is a desktop sticky note and note management tool designed specifically for macOS.

It pins notes to the right edge of the screen; simply move the pointer over them to expand them sequentially, eliminating the need to open windows or click the Dock icon. HoldMyNotes Each note has its own color, tag, and vertical position, and can be expanded to full size for editing. Notes are automatically written to disk after typing stops. The software supports archiving and restoration; HoldMyNotes archived notes can still be searched by title, text, and tags. The All Notes window allows for unified browsing, filtering, and batch processing of all content. Notes can be exported as Markdown, plain text, single-file documents, or color-coded and dated archives, and can also be imported from archives. Syncing is disabled by default but can be maintained across multiple Macs via a user-specified iCloud Drive folder. Each note uses a separate .hmnote file. Data is stored in a local SQLite database, with text encrypted using AES-GCM. The key is stored in the local login keychain. It does not include accounts, telemetry, crash reports, or third-party SDKs, and does not require accessibility, input monitoring, or screen recording permissions. The software supports multiple monitors, full-screen applications, and Stage Manager, and provides global shortcuts for creating new notes, opening all notes, and accessing archives.
