Inkstone

Inkstone is a native Markdown editor designed specifically for macOS.

Allowing users to process every local Markdown file elegantly and smoothly. It runs entirely locally, utilizing the native SwiftUI architecture and integrating the ProseMirror editing engine, easily handling tens of thousands of files and documents up to 200,000 words while maintaining rapid responsiveness. Users can add multiple folders, such as blogs, code repositories, and personal knowledge bases, to the same workspace simultaneously, using tabs and split-screen to handle multiple tasks in parallel. The entire writing process is WYSIWYG; Markdown is rendered into a page in real-time as you type, clicking on a title does not trigger a reflow, and there are no preview panes or syntax markers to disrupt the writing flow. Inkstone It fully supports table drag handles, task lists, footnotes, inline code, syntax-highlighted code blocks, and mathematical formulas, and saves them as plain text. Cross-folder wiki links allow journal entries to directly link to blog drafts, supporting aliases, title jumps, and command-click follow, and is compatible with existing Obsidian repositories without importing. Focus mode minimizes surrounding content, focusing only on the current paragraph; Typewriter mode locks the paragraph in the center of your view; each save automatically creates a version and supports difference comparison and rollback; it can also monitor folders and synchronize changes generated by the programming agent in real time; all notes are stored in a designated location as standard Markdown files, without uploading any content to protect privacy.
