Description

Keylume is a stylish on-screen keyboard tool designed for macOS for screen recording and live presentation scenarios.

Keylume presents the full picture of the Apple keyboard, including the media keys, arrow keys, and all modifier keys, perfectly matching the look and layout of the real Apple keyboard, while many other key visualization tools only show modifier key combinations or omit function keys, while Keylume shows the entire keyboard. Keylume has a variety of beautiful built-in themes and an intuitive theme editor that makes it easy for users to create personalized styles, as well as save themes, share them with others, or import themes made by others. Keylume will automatically pop up at the start of screen recording and automatically hide after recording stops, detecting the response in just one second, and also supports manual switching of display by tapping the fn key three times. Keylume supports hovering and tapping fn to enable auto-hide mode, allowing the keyboard to fade out and allow clicks to penetrate, and you can also freely drag and reposition and resize, and the location information will be automatically remembered. Users can set the app ignore list to prevent background silent recording apps such as backup tools or picture-in-picture utilities from repeatedly triggering keyboard displays. Keylume offers powerful remote control capabilities to remotely show, hide, or switch keyboards from scripts, shortcuts, or other applications via a URL scheme or command-line interface. Pro features include tapping keystrokes on the on-screen keyboard to send actual keystrokes, especially when using only pointer devices for projection presentations. Keylume automatically reads the system keyboard layout and updates the key labels when switching languages or layouts such as Dvorak. When you press and hold the modifier key, the key label will dynamically update, showing the uppercase letters and symbols of the Shift combination, the special characters and accent letters of the Option combination, etc. The Custom Layer Editor allows users to create their own modifier key layers, such as displaying assigned apps or shortcuts when holding cmd, helping to memorize complex shortcut keys and visualize modifier key combinations. Keylume also supports temporary layers, storage editing removal layers, JSON export import, and full command-line tools, greatly enhancing flexibility and usability in professional presentations and recordings.
