MacNotch

MacNotch is a menu bar enhancement tool designed for macOS.

Capable of turning the top of the screen into a personalized productivity center. When Mac devices are equipped with a physical notch, MacNotch perfectly aligns the hardware notch position and centers below the menu bar on other displays. Users can freely configure it according to their workflow, from simple basic functions to rich module stacks. MacNotch supports a variety of display settings, allowing users to choose which screens to display the function bar and adjust the appearance, drag-and-drop actions, and modules that are turned on by default through the settings panel. Core features include a customizable dashboard, support for Focus mode and time-based profile switching, built-in weather display, Spotify and Apple Music integration, Plex card, app and folder launcher, quote of the day, schedule progress, quick switches, event reminders, etc., and the four major component slots can be arranged arbitrarily. The Media Control Module provides album art and gradient effects, supports Spotify, Apple Music, Plex, and full transfer control of what the system is playing, and is visualized as a bar graph or spectrum. The Calendar module showcases upcoming events and reminders on macOS, with support for countdowns, details, and integration with Focus mode. The To-Do module allows for direct adding, completion, deletion, and restoration of tasks, staying in sync with macOS reminders and equipped with a trash retention mechanism. The Notes module acts as a notepad within the notch, allowing you to quickly create and open notes for instant capture. The Pomodoro module offers customizable work and rest cycles, and the interface displays progress and notifies you when phase switches. The Bluetooth module displays the battery level of connected devices in real time, including AirPods, headphones, mice, keyboards, trackpads, and controllers, and supports low battery alerts. The translation module integrates with OpenAI or Ollama’s LLM models, allowing users to quickly translate text by selecting providers, models, and languages in the settings. Git modules monitor GitHub pull requests and GitLab merge requests, support viewing projects for review and requests created by yourself, and personal tokens are only stored on your local Mac. The drag-and-drop action module allows you to drag and drop files to the notch area for shelf storage, AirDrop sharing, cloud storage, compression and decompression, image conversion, mobile copying, opening with designated apps, adding to music or trash can, etc. The Shelf module stages files in a carousel, supports dragging in and out, and displays shortcut tiles in the bar by dragging and dropping. The real-time activity module allows the folding bar to automatically rotate media, timer, calendar, Bluetooth and other updates, and supports optional volume brightness bars and short notifications. The system monitoring module displays CPU, memory, and storage usage in real time, and is displayed in the notch area with clear visual indicators. MacNotch adopts a modular design, allowing users to freely turn on or off any module, reorder, set default open items, and adjust them at any time through settings, so that the notch area remains streamlined and efficient, perfectly adapting to the daily work habits of different users.
