Metion

Metion is a note-taking tool focused on the writing experience, using Markdown as the basic text syntax.

Metion 2.0 introduces a new feature called “Knowledge Base,” which allows users to build their own knowledge bases by converting plain text syntax into mind map trees or network connections. We consider the writing experience as a top priority, especially on iPadOS, although it is not easy.

Metion supports full keyboard shortcuts, and the writing experience on iPad and iPhone is significantly improved when the keyboard is connected. At the same time, we have redesigned the “Zen Mode” on the iPad to provide a more focused writing environment, where users can choose the appropriate background image and favorite white noise, hide irrelevant UI elements, and make the writing process enjoyable and focused.

Metion is based on an open file system, eliminating the need to create new formats for data storage, articles exist as plain text files, images are stored in specific folders, data freedom and an open file system enable data synchronization using iCloud or Git, and support for fast backups.

In addition, Metion has a built-in “Historical Version” feature to improve the reliability of documents. This tool optimizes the iPad Pro experience to make it a more efficient device when writing, while also being optimized for the iPhone, especially taking into account the notch design of the new iPhone, making the most of every pixel.

Metion supports exporting documents to PDF, it is recommended to set the PDF theme to “Printer” in the settings panel, and you can also export documents as pictures and add text and QR code signatures to share them through social apps and highlight the value of text.

In addition, Metion can automatically analyze the structure of the current article and export it as a mind map with one click.
