Mux

Mux is a network connection management tool designed specifically for macOS.

It resides in the menu bar and runs quietly in the background, automatically switching between Wi-Fi and Ethernet based on network status. When an Ethernet cable is plugged into the Mac, Mux disables Wi-Fi; when the cable is unplugged, it automatically restores the Wi-Fi connection, reducing manual operation and network switching interruptions. The software responds instantly to network changes and supports setting instant, 3-second, 5-second, or 10-second switching delays. It centrally displays network interfaces such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Thunderbolt Bridge, and personal hotspots, allowing users to rearrange network service priorities, enable or disable specific connections, and quickly select preferred networks from the menu bar. Every network change is logged, making it easy to see what happened and when. Mux performs network detection and interface switching natively using standard macOS system APIs, retaining connection details and activity logs on the device. It supports macOS 15 and later and offers keyboard shortcuts and automatic startup capabilities.
