Description

Native Tasks for Obsidian is a native macOS task management application designed for Obsidian users.

Native Tasks for Obsidian It centralizes to-do items stored in Knowledge Base Markdown files in a Wunderlist-like three-column interface, making it easy for users to browse, schedule, edit, and archive tasks. The software is not an Electron wrapper and does not maintain a proprietary database. Each modification is atomically written back to the original .md file, and file modification timestamps are used to detect conflicts, preventing overwriting content simultaneously saved by Obsidian. It can recognize due dates, scheduled dates, recurring rules, multi-level priorities, and custom status syntax used by the Tasks plugin. It also supports dragging and dropping tasks between files or adjusting the order within the same file. Using global keyboard shortcuts and the menu bar input tool, Native Tasks for Obsidian users can quickly capture tasks from any application and write them into a daily journal according to the Daily Notes plugin configuration. Built-in smart lists such as Today, Inbox, and Completed are suitable for daily task organization, GTD collection, and subsequent sorting. All scanning, parsing, and writing operations are performed locally on the Mac, without requiring an account, and do not include telemetry or analysis functions. No network requests are initiated except for user-initiated Obsidian deep links, and task data is always stored in a personal knowledge base.
