Origami

Origami is a terminal workspace management tool for macOS developers.

It centralizes project-related shell terminals, AI programming agents, and frequently used commands into independent workspaces, Origami eliminating the need for users to repeatedly close and rebuild contexts when switching projects. It preserves the actual shell process and the user’s existing shell configurations and dot files, providing a clear project organization, complete keyboard operations, and a command palette. The application includes built-in Git tools for viewing real-time changes, reading diffs, commenting on lines of code, creating commits, pushing updates, managing the staging area, branches, and working tree. Each workspace also features a Kanban board that can be written to by agents, using cards to record tasks and change history. Documents generated by agents are correctly rendered as versioned artifacts within the application, and the MCP service allows agents to open terminals, read output, publish documents, move cards, and handle review threads. Unfold supports describing commands in natural language and generating shell commands. Environment variables, automatic command startup, notifications, workspace import/export, and interface customization further streamline daily development workflows.
