PeekBar

PeekBar is a menu bar tool designed specifically for MacBooks with notch displays.

It detects status bar icons that are obscured by the camera notch and displays them in a borderless panel next to the PeekBar icon. Users can simply click the corresponding icon in the panel to trigger the actual menu of the original application, without repeatedly adjusting the resolution, hiding other icons, or clearing the menu bar. The software resides entirely in the menu bar, without displaying the Dock icon or opening the main window. The panel is fixed near the PeekBar icon to prevent position jumps. It offers three modes: showing only notch-hidden icons, showing all menu bar icons, and showing custom icons. It supports custom icon order, automatic startup upon login, and keyboard shortcuts. First-time use requires granting accessibility permissions. Icon detection and clicking are completed offline on the local machine, without collecting, saving, or transferring personal data. PeekBar can also be used as a menu bar icon panel on Macs without a notch and supports macOS 26; the macOS 27 public beta currently only has stable and available display modes.
