Description

TuneRight is a local music tagging tool for macOS.

That identifies song releases by listening to them and matches track names, artists, albums, years, genres, and album art to existing music files. Users can scan an entire folder to quickly see which songs have complete information, which have found matches, and which still need checking, without having to open each file individually. TuneRight displays suggested tags and album art next to the songs, supports grouping reviews by album, and allows users to select alternative matches, skip processing, or manually edit information for individual songs. When editing tags, users can centrally modify the title, artist, album, year, and genre, and select custom album art. Album art sources include fanart.tv and Cover Art Archive; missing genres can be added from the Apple Music Store. The scanning process only reads the files; changes are only written after the user clicks the application, and can be undone to restore the original song. The software supports MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV, and AIFF formats, but does not download, play, or share music. An internet connection is required to search for songs and album art and verify licenses; after authorization, it can be used offline for up to 30 days. TuneRight is a native Mac application, compatible with macOS 14 Sonoma and later, and supports Apple chips and Intel Macs.
