TypeSeer

TypeSeer is a native AI-powered writing aid for macOS.

That provides suggestions for continuing gray text in input boxes in Mail, Notes, Slack, browsers, and most Mac applications. Users can accept suggestions word by word by pressing Tab; suggestions automatically move aside when typing, rewriting, or pressing Esc, without altering the original text. The software runs an open language model directly on Apple Silicon chips, generating content offline after the initial download; typed text, documents, and suggestions are not sent to servers. TypeSeer Optional personalized learning extracts common names, technical terms, and expressions from completed sentences, allowing users to view, export, or delete records individually. It also supports trigger word text snippets, date and time with clipboard placeholders, one-click spell correction, context-aware word completion, and reviewable grammar checks using a compatible instruction model. TypeSeer automatically recognizes language variations within the same document, provides dedicated dictionaries and spell checks for fifteen languages, and can read conversation content from the current window to improve responses. Users can also disable recommendations by application or website, configure custom MLX models, adjust confidence levels and writing style, and calibrate the position and size of recommended text for specific applications. The software requires a Mac with an M1 chip or later and running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
