ActionClip

ActionClip is a global text selection tool for macOS.

After installation, it runs as a lightweight menu bar application and can identify selected text in most macOS accessibility-enabled applications, displaying a floating menu of actions next to the text in real time. It offers built-in actions such as rewriting, translating, copying, pasting, opening links, summarizing, explaining, correcting errors, shortening text, address mapping, and word and character counts. It can also intelligently recommend more suitable actions based on the selected text. Users can pin frequently used actions, hide unnecessary items, rearrange their order, manage workflows in groups, and switch between three interface themes: ActionClip, iOS edit menu, and native menu. The software supports creating custom actions using JavaScript, AI prompts, terminal commands, AppleScript, link generation, and workflows. It can also use the AI ​​action builder to generate testable and saveable actions based on natural language. For AI, it is compatible with native Apple Intelligence and Ollam models, as well as external services such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, OpenRouter, and Perplexity. Users can choose their own data processing methods and model sources. ActionClip requires macOS 15.0 or later, supports a multilingual interface, and allows some settings to be synced via iCloud.
