Clamshell
Information

Description
Clamshell is a menu bar tool for Apple Silicon MacBooks that allows your Mac.
To continue running even when the screen is closed, without needing an external display, docking station, or HDMI decoy. Simply hold down the Option key and close the lid; terminal sessions, build tasks, file downloads, Claude Code, and other programming agents and background tasks will continue to run, while the device maintains a network connection for access via SSH or screen sharing. The software supports both plugged-in and battery-powered scenarios. The screen will completely turn off to conserve display power and hide work, instantly resuming when the lid is opened without needing to restart applications or deal with black screen issues. Clamshell requires no administrator privileges, sudo, drivers, kernel extensions, or privileged accessibility, and will reapply settings when the power is plugged in or unplugged. Users can also enable low battery protection to put the Mac to sleep when the battery level drops below a set threshold. It is compatible with macOS 14 and later, and eligible MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.
