Description

GestureCraft is a lightweight, menu-bar-based custom input tool for macOS 14 and later.

It unifies trackpad gestures, keyboard shortcuts, and mouse buttons into local rules. Each rule is set like a fill-in-the-blank sentence: when a certain input occurs, perform the specified action, and choose to apply it across all apps or within a specific app. The trackpad recognizes clicks, long presses, swipes, and dynamic swipes, supporting the built-in trackpad, external Magic Trackpad, and two-finger clicks and swipes on the Magic Mouse. Rules can also provide short, sharp tactile feedback at light, medium, and strong inputs. The keyboard can be configured with single keys, key combinations, and full key sequences. Multi-button mice can set the right, middle, back, forward, and additional buttons to single-click or press-and-hold triggers. Actions include shortcuts, launching apps, window snapping, and scripts. It can also map volume, brightness, play/pause, keyboard backlight, the Dispatch Center, focus, app scheduling, showing the desktop, left/right swipe space, and quickly viewing selected files in Finder. The software reads the touchpad in an event-driven manner and sleeps when no one touches it, with near-zero idle processor usage and approximately 45 MB of resident memory. GestureCraft Accessibility permissions are used to send keystrokes and move windows, and input monitoring is only required when keyboard or mouse rules are enabled. GestureCraft No account is required throughout the process, and the release version is notarized.
