Mudlark

Mudlark is a structured shorthand and drafting tool for macOS.

That presents the input and rendering areas side-by-side. Users simply enter a specific prefix at the beginning of each line to automatically categorize and display titles, tasks, completed items, highlights, quotations, bullet points, numbered lists, media, tables, timers, code, and mathematical content. It’s suitable for meeting minutes, spur-of-the-moment ideas, to-do lists, reading notes, project notes, and everyday snapshots. It supports quick task selection via fuzzy matching and allows you to use a global keyboard shortcut to bring up a floating input bar above any macOS application, enabling you to record content without switching contexts. Mudlark also offers multiple light and dark themes and allows for custom theme JSON. It supports one-click export to Obsidian, Notion, Apple Notes, Bear, iA Writer, Ulysses, Craft, Things, Todoist, Reminders, or plain text folders, allowing spur-of-the-moment notes to seamlessly integrate into existing workflows.
