NowPlayingWidget

NowPlayingWidget is a desktop music widget, notch player.

And OBS live streaming information overlay tool for Mac. By reading macOS Now Playing information, it automatically follows the playback status of compatible music applications, local players, podcasts, and browsers, eliminating the need for separate account connections or interface configurations for each service. The software offers three floating sizes: NowPlayingWidget compact, standard, and full, which can be dragged to the top center or left/right edge of the screen to switch to a notch player with a semi-transparent side dock. It also works on flat screens. Users can view track information, album art, and available synchronized lyrics, perform pause, skip tracks, jump progress, and browse local playback history by date, artist, or source. The standalone live streaming mode supports capturing and displaying song information through the native OBS window, with customizable background, transparency, NowPlayingWidget font, and alignment. Version 1.6.0 adds the ability to remember iPhone and Android phone sources, and a mechanism to complete missing album art via iTunes and NetEase Cloud Music, while retaining the phone’s audio for playback on the phone or headphones. The software supports light and dark themes, window placement across spaces, and login launch. It is compatible with Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 and above. Specific control capabilities and lyrics display depend on the playback source and data availability.
