ShowRunner is a macOS automated presentation recording tool designed for creating software tutorials.

Users can orchestrate workflows from actions such as moving, clicking, right-clicking, dragging and dropping, typing, using shortcuts, scrolling, waiting, and switching applications. They can also directly record their own actions, which the software then reliably reproduces, ensuring a consistent rhythm and focus for each presentation. ShowRunner The real-time run mode drives the actual macOS cursor and provides controls such as Esc emergency stop, a floating step list, starting a specified step, and hiding irrelevant applications. The run and record mode executes the workflow and captures the screen simultaneously. The built-in editor supports frame-by-frame timelines, cutting, fading, automatic scaling, manual scaling of ranges, picture-in-picture, hotspot emphasis, scene backgrounds, and transitions. Users can adjust the composite cursor’s movement curve, tilt, stretch, motion blur, trailing, click bounce, and colored click rings. A single project can accommodate multiple independent scenes, rendering the cursor, zoom, camera, and background uniformly to native capture resolution MP4, and can also export scenes separately. The software also supports camera bubbles and microphone narration, and can automatically avoid the cursor when it gets close, making it suitable for repeatedly creating clear, coherent, and easily updatable professional operation demonstrations.
